COURSE FOR OPERATOR AND ASSISTANT FOR ARTIFICIAL AVALANCHE BLASTING – MODULE 2B

TARGETS
The course provides knowledge about preventive avalanche control through artificial triggering. This training course deals with artificial avalanche triggering operations and qualifies participants as avalanche blasting operator, upon having a blaster licence, or assistant to avalanche blasting operator.

DMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Holding a middle school diploma, having passed the module 2a course and subsequent refresher course for those holding a 2a diploma before 2013, average skiing abilities.e.

SUBJECTS DEAL WITH
Artificial avalanche triggering techniques, analysis of explosives and their effects on snowcover, management plans for avalanche triggering operations, safety and rescue rules, legislation on the use of explosives and safety measures for operators, juridical aspects and civil and criminal liability for avalanche blasting operators, thematic cartography and avalanche dynamics.

DURATION
5 days, for a total of 33 hours. The detailed programme will be defined based on the meteorological situation and local snowcover conditions.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS ADMITTED
The course allows for participation of up to 30 people (a minimum of 15 participants are required for the course to start).

PERIOD AND PLACE
The theoretical part of the course will be delivered online on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th May 2021.
Course program and registration form will be published within the first week of April.
At the moment it is not possible to schedule the practical part, due to the mobility limitations imposed by the health situation and the closure of the ski lifts.
