SAFETY RESPONSIBLE COURSE – MODULE 2D
Attainment of qualification of Responsible for safety also qualifies for carrying out the operations provided for the Director of operations.
TARGET
The course provides the necessary skills for the management of plans and procedures for avalanche danger defence in highly complex environments. Moreover, it thoroughly analyses the useful aspects for technical verification of the effectiveness of plans and the efficiency of tools and works for avalanche defence. It aims at training operators holding a secondary school diploma or a degree. The competencies attained with the course for Responsible for safety include and integrate those provided for by module 2c for the course of Director of operations: the title issued by AINEVA for passing the exam for Responsible for safety therefore also includes the “Director of operations” qualification.

SUBJECTS DEALT WITH
Alpine meteorology, synoptic frame and local specificities, interpretation of weather charts, measurement tools and methods for observing snow and weather parameters, data filing procedures, snow science and snowcover stability evaluation methods, methods for avalanche danger forecasting at a local and regional scale, supporting models for local avalanche danger forecasting, avalanche safety management plans and their verification, cartography and avalanche dynamics models, avalanche release techniques and avalanche defence works, especially referring to control procedures for efficiency and maintenance plans, rescue and self-rescue techniques, specific legislation and civil and criminal aspects related to avalanche problems, operator safety.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS ADMITTED
The course allows for participation of up to 20 people, considering the sum of the people attending the two modules 2c and 2d (a minimum of 15 participants are required for the two courses to start). Registration of participants is accepted based on chronological order.
